Heating

Heat pump repair and replacement for Clermont and Central Florida homes, so the same system that cools you all summer keeps you warm on chilly winter nights.

Central Florida winters are short and mild, but a few chilly nights a year still catch plenty of homeowners off guard, and most homes here rely on a heat pump for both cooling and heating. When a heat pump struggles, you usually notice twice: weak cooling in the summer and cold air from the vents in the winter. Strategic Heating & Air repairs and replaces heat pumps for homes across Clermont, Winter Garden, Ocoee, Orlando, Tavares, Ocala, and the surrounding communities.

Because a Florida heat pump runs nearly year round, it wears faster than one in a colder climate, and small problems like a failing capacitor, a sticking reversing valve, or a dirty coil can turn into big ones. We find the real cause, explain it in plain English, and give you honest options in writing before any work starts. For homes with electric strip heat as backup, we check that too, since it's often why a winter power bill jumps.

What we handle: heat pump repair and replacement; reversing valve and defrost control diagnosis; electric strip heat and air handler service; system sizing and load calculations; thermostat upgrades and smart thermostat integration; and seasonal tune-ups across Clermont, Minneola, Winter Garden, Ocoee, Windermere, Orlando, Apopka, Tavares, Eustis, Leesburg, and Ocala.

FAQs

Common Questions You May Have

These are the questions we hear most from Central Florida homeowners. If you don't see yours, give us a call.
Do you install and replace AC systems and heat pumps?

Yes. We install and replace central air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits across Clermont, Winter Garden, Ocoee, Orlando, Tavares, Ocala, and nearby communities. We size every system to the house instead of guessing, so you get steady comfort and lower power bills through the long cooling season.

What indoor air quality services do you offer?

Central Florida humidity is hard on the air inside your home. We install and service the iWave air purification system, which reduces odors and allergens and helps kill mold, bacteria, and viruses, along with upgraded filtration and dehumidification that work with your existing HVAC. If anyone in the home deals with allergies, asthma, or constant congestion, this is where we'd start.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. We provide free estimates on installation and replacement projects, including new AC systems, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, indoor air quality upgrades, and new construction work. For diagnostic visits on existing equipment, a service call fee may apply, and we credit it toward the cost of any repair you authorize.

Do you offer emergency heating and cooling service?

When your system goes down, we treat it like the emergency it is, because a house with no AC in August isn't something that can wait. Our promise is straightforward: no matter the time of day or the day of the week, call Strategic Heating & Air and we'll respond as fast as we can. Preventive Maintenance Program members get priority when the schedule is full.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Central Florida from our Clermont office, including Minneola, Groveland, Winter Garden, Ocoee, Windermere, Orlando, Apopka, Tavares, Eustis, Mount Dora, Leesburg, and Ocala.

Do you serve Orlando and Ocala?

Yes. We regularly work in Orlando and Ocala along with Clermont, Lake County, and west Orange County. Calls closest to Clermont are usually the fastest to schedule.

Are you licensed and insured in Florida?

Yes. Strategic Heating & Air is licensed and insured in Florida. Proof of license and insurance is available on request.

What should I do if my AC stops working in summer?

Set the thermostat to cool below room temperature, check the batteries, reset any tripped breaker, and replace a dirty filter. In Florida, a clogged condensate drain is a common culprit, and many systems have a safety switch that shuts the AC off when the drain backs up. If you see ice or water around the indoor unit, shut the system off and call us.
